5.3.1. The Task Server
When the process engine encounters a human task, it will try to assign the task to the designated user. When the assigned user takes action on the task, the task will be completed. These two different activities of assigning/creating a task and completing a task are carried out by what is called a task server. jBPM provides few choices for a task server; we will be using the local task server implementation, which is bundled with the jBPM package. The local task server implementation runs in the same JVM as the calling program and processes each request synchronously. We will provide a layer around that local task server for our convenience.
•In bloom-rental-ejb project, define an interface called com.bb.bloomrentalejb.task.TaskServer to define start() and stop() operations as in the box below.
